An Iranian military spokesperson said the United States is facing strategic isolation, arguing that Washington's military actions in the region no longer enjoy broad support from allies and the international community.
According to the Fars news agency, the remarks came amid continuing regional tensions between Iran and the West. The Iranian military spokesperson asserted that the United States is increasingly alone in its strategic calculations in the Middle East, as many countries are no longer enthusiastic about military campaigns led by Washington.
The official said this isolation is reflected in the reluctance of Washington's traditional allies to take part in joint military operations, as well as in the cautious response of international public opinion to escalation moves.
Iran stressed that any military action against Iranian territory would meet strong resistance. The statement came as Iranian military officials have repeatedly warned of external threats in recent times.
Tehran has also repeatedly criticized the U.S. military presence in the region, calling it a main cause of instability. Iranian officials say the country is ready for dialogue but will not accept any outside pressure or interference.
There has been no official U.S. reaction to the remarks so far. Tensions between Iran and the United States remain high after years of disagreement over the nuclear program and regional influence.
