The Mecca Alliance said it has agreed to activate collective deterrence measures in response to what it called "barbaric" attacks by the Houthi group in Yemen against Saudi Arabia.

In a statement on Monday, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey had decided to "provide unified military forces and capabilities, while ensuring rapid deployment" to the kingdom.

The announcement came as Yemen's Saudi-backed government launched a counteroffensive to push Iran-aligned Houthi forces out of territory the group seized last month.
