Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has directed the country's judiciary to pursue cases related to crimes by the United States and Israel against Iran. This was reported by Iranian state media on November 11.
According to the Tasnim news agency, Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that Iran's judicial bodies must act more decisively in gathering evidence and preparing criminal proceedings against US and Israeli individuals and organizations involved in violations of Iran's sovereignty and national security.
He also called on international legal organizations, particularly the International Court of Justice (ICJ), to take responsibility for adjudicating these cases. Iran's top leader stated that recent actions by Washington and Tel Aviv have seriously violated international law, including the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists and cyberattacks targeting the country's critical infrastructure.
"Our judicial authorities must persistently prosecute the perpetrators, not only within the national framework but also through international legal mechanisms. We will not let any crime against the Iranian people go unpunished," Ayatollah Khamenei declared.
The move comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States and Israel in recent months, particularly following the assassination of nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh in November 2020, which Tehran blames on Israel. Iran also accuses the US and Israel of conducting numerous cyberattacks on its energy and nuclear facilities.
