On June 14, Iran's Foreign Ministry accused Italy and Romania of facilitating US and Israeli military campaigns against Iranian interests in the Middle East. The statement followed Tehran's confirmation of evidence that the two European nations allowed use of their airspace and military infrastructure to support US and Israeli airstrikes.
According to Iranian Foreign Ministry sources, these actions constitute a serious violation of international law and principles of national sovereignty. Iran warned that Italy and Romania's support for the US and Israel would further destabilize regional security and threaten global peace.
An Iranian representative emphasized: “We will take proportionate retaliatory measures if these two countries do not immediately cease their support for acts of aggression.” Italy and Romania have yet to issue an official response to the allegations.
