Daiwa Securities: Data of About 110,000 Customers May Have Leaked in Unauthorized Access Incident

Daiwa Securities Group Inc. said Monday that data on roughly 110,000 customers of its brokerage unit, along with other non-personal information, may have been compromised after unauthorized access to a server operated by one of its contractors.

According to the group's statement, the incident involved a server managed by a contractor, and the unauthorized access may have exposed the data of tens of thousands of customers.

Daiwa Securities Group said it is continuing to investigate the scope and extent of the incident, while considering measures needed to prevent similar risks in the future.
