Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has dismissed a false Axios report about secret US-Iran talks. He called the report fabricated and reaffirmed Iran’s stance against direct negotiations with the U.S.
On May 24, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf denounced false information published by the U.S. news outlet Axios regarding talks between Iran and the United States. In a statement, Ghalibaf asserted that the report was entirely fabricated and lacked factual basis.
According to Ghalibaf, Axios’s claims aim to create misunderstandings about Iran’s stance and foreign policy. He stressed that Iran adheres to its fundamental principles in international relations and that no direct negotiations with the United States have taken place as Axios suggested.
Earlier, Axios had published an article asserting that Iran and the U.S. were conducting secret talks, which Tehran immediately denied. Ghalibaf’s rejection once again underscores Tehran’s firm position against misleading information from Western media. The incident highlights ongoing tensions between the two nations, with no signs of de-escalation.
