US approves over $8.6 billion in weapons sales to Middle East allies
The US State Department has approved more than $8.6 billion in weapons sales to Israel, Qatar, and the UAE, including Patriot missiles and IBCS systems. The deals include $992.4 million in APKWS rockets for Israel, $4.01 billion in Patriot missiles for Qatar, and $147.6 million in guidance kits for the UAE. Officials say the sales align with US national interests and will not shift the regional power balance.
