Hamas confirms senior commander killed in Israeli strike in Gaza
Hamas has confirmed the death of Izz al-Din al-Haddad, the head of its armed wing in Gaza, in an Israeli strike on Friday along with his wife, daughter, and other civilians. Israel had targeted Haddad, calling him a key architect of the October 7, 2023 attack. Hamas decried the killing as a violation of the Gaza ceasefire and ongoing aggression against civilians.
