Anti-immigrant protests in Johannesburg's Soweto area and the coastal city of Durban turned violent on Thursday, leaving dozens of vehicles burned and foreign-owned businesses shuttered. The South African government says the unrest was fueled by deliberate misinformation about a Constitutional Court ruling on asylum seekers.
