Kenya's Former Half Marathon World Record Holder Banned 7 Years for Doping
Kibiwott Kandie, former world record holder in the half marathon, has been banned for seven years by the AIU for two anti-doping violations: refusing to provide a sample and attempting to subvert the testing process. The 30-year-old Kenyan, who won Commonwealth bronze, initially faced an eight-year suspension but had it reduced after accepting sanctions early. His ban runs from March 2025 to March 2032.
