Disappointment among atomic bomb survivors in Japan as NPT conference ends without consensus
Survivors of the 1945 U.S. atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, along with the mayors of those cities, expressed disappointment Saturday after the NPT review conference concluded without a consensus document. The survivors, known as hibakusha, said the failure undermines global nuclear disarmament and called on nuclear-armed states to show greater responsibility.
