Iran's Anti-Imperialism Is a Survival Strategy, Not an Ideology
Despite its hostile rhetoric, the Islamic Republic of Iran is likely to reach an agreement with the US and Israel when preserving the system takes precedence, as enshrined in its constitution and history. The regime's anti-imperialism is positional rather than principled, and it has a long record of deals with enemies when survival demands. A settlement may save the system but will not bring democracy, leaving Iranians exposed to their own state.
