Steve Smith broke the Test record for the most career catches by a non-wicketkeeper, moving to 223 as Australia bowled South Africa out for 284 on day three in Durban. Nic Maddinson and Travis Head then extended Australia's lead to 139 with a quickfire 33-run stand before bad light stopped play.
