Sudan's army chief holds closed consultations ahead of national dialogue conference
Sudan's army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan has held closed consultations with political and civil society forces, agreeing on steps to facilitate a national dialogue conference after more than two years of conflict with paramilitary forces. The consultations included proposals to drop death-penalty charges against opposition leaders and to form a preparatory committee, despite criticism from some political groups.
