On October 1, Yemen's Ansarullah (Houthi) movement issued an official statement affirming its firm stance alongside Iran amid the increasingly complex situation in the Middle East. The statement came after Iran faced attacks from Israel targeting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and military facilities.
In a public message, Ansarullah's leadership stated: "We declare full solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran and affirm that we will not stand aside in the war against the forces of aggression." The movement also called on regional resistance forces to enhance coordination to counter Israeli military actions.
According to analysts, this move reflects the close strategic relationship between Ansarullah and Iran, which has been maintained and strengthened over the years. Yemen, under Ansarullah's control, has long been seen as a key link in the Iran-led axis of resistance, alongside Hezbollah in Lebanon and armed groups in Syria and Iraq.
The statement comes as Israel escalates military campaigns against Iran-aligned forces in several countries, raising concerns about the risk of conflict spreading across the region. Previously, Israeli forces also conducted airstrikes on Ansarullah positions in Yemen in response to missile and drone launches by the movement toward Israeli territory.
Ansarullah, which has controlled the capital Sanaa and many densely populated areas in Yemen since 2014, has repeatedly affirmed it will continue military operations to support Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, while warning it will expand targets if Israel persists with provocative actions.
