The incident occurred at around 11:30 a.m. local time on the Tohoku Expressway in Shirakawa City. Preliminary information indicates the bus, carrying 27 people including the driver, suddenly lost control while traveling and slammed into the roadside protective barrier.
The deceased victim is a teenage boy, identified as a high school student. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment, with several reported in serious condition. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
