An explosion near a restaurant on Kudrinskaya Square in Moscow, Russia, on the evening of December 21 killed at least 3 people and injured 15, according to a statement from Russia's Interior Ministry.
The blast occurred at approximately 20:10 local time (17:10 GMT) near building No. 1 on Kudrinskaya Square, close to a café. Moscow police said the explosion caused "3 fatalities and 15 injuries of varying severity." The wounded are receiving medical care.
Police and emergency services were deployed to the scene immediately after the incident. Authorities said the cause of the explosion is being investigated.
According to Russian media, traffic near the square was temporarily blocked, and the entrance to the Barrikadnaya metro station was also closed.
Russia's Interior Ministry confirmed the incident occurred at a restaurant in the area but has not released details about the victims' identities or any suspects.
