Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Thursday officially dismissed reports that former U.S. President Donald Trump had been in contact with Iranian officials.
In a statement, the IRGC asserted that there had been no exchanges or communications between Trump and Iranian authorities. The force described the reports as baseless rumors lacking factual foundation.
Earlier, some media outlets had reported that Trump had made efforts to reach out to Iran, but the Iranian side promptly and firmly rejected those claims.
This is not the first time rumors about U.S.-Iran relations have surfaced amid escalating tensions between the two countries in recent times.
The IRGC called on media sources to verify information before publishing, to avoid misleading public opinion both at home and abroad.
