A serious collision between a train and a passenger bus in Bangkok, Thailand, left at least one person dead and several others injured. The accident occurred early in the morning when a train struck a bus crossing an unguarded level crossing in a densely populated urban area.
According to initial reports, the bus was carrying approximately 40 passengers, mostly workers and students. The impact severely crushed the bus's front, trapping many inside the cabin. Rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene and transported victims to hospitals. The train driver sustained minor injuries.
The incident has once again raised concerns about rail safety in Thailand, where many level crossings still lack barriers and automatic warning systems. Traffic safety experts say the government needs to urgently invest in upgrading infrastructure, installing warning devices and barriers at dangerous crossings.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident, including whether the bus driver ignored warning signals. The incident disrupted rail traffic in the area for several hours.
