UAE becomes first regional buyer of Brazilian military transport aircraft

Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer has signed a deal with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for up to 20 C-390 military transport aircraft, valued at an estimated $1 billion. The agreement includes 10 firm orders and 10 purchase options, making the UAE the first regional customer for the aircraft line.

Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer said it expects to secure further defense contracts in the Middle East following a landmark agreement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for up to 20 C-390 military transport aircraft.
According to Reuters, the deal is worth approximately $1 billion and includes 10 firm orders and 10 purchase options, making the UAE the first customer in the region for this aircraft line.
“The Middle East is a strategic region for us,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, head of Embraer’s defense and security division.
The UAE currently operates transport aircraft from Lockheed Martin and Boeing, and this new agreement is expected to bolster the country’s military transport capabilities.
