Shinkansen service on the Hakata–Kumamoto line has resumed following a suspension caused by an earthquake in the Kyushu region of southern Japan.
According to initial reports, the railway line had been temporarily halted to allow for inspections and repairs in the aftermath of the quake. Operations were restored after safety conditions along the route were confirmed.
The line is a key transport artery linking Fukuoka, the region's administrative and economic hub, with Kumamoto, making its reopening important for residents' travel and for the area's economic and social activity.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation to ensure safe operations, as the region remains affected by aftershocks following the earthquake.
