On July 16, a special exhibition featuring documents related to Ashura and the month of Muharram officially opened at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters. The event, organized by the Ministry in collaboration with cultural agencies, aims to introduce the public and international friends to precious materials about one of Islam's most significant rituals.
The exhibition displays numerous artifacts, images, and historical texts connected to Muharram – the first month of the Islamic calendar – and Ashura (the 10th day of Muharram), a day commemorating a major event in Islamic history, particularly for the Shi'a Muslim community.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of presenting religious and cultural values to the world, while reaffirming Vietnam's commitment to respecting and preserving the cultural and religious diversity of communities at home and abroad.
Many diplomats, representatives of international organizations, and a large number of citizens visited on the first day. Numerous attendees praised the exhibition as an opportunity to learn more about Islamic culture and strengthen mutual understanding between cultures.
The exhibition is expected to run for one week, with free admission to the public in the main hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters.
