Kameda's WBA Title Fight Called Off After Figueroa Withdraws

The WBA featherweight title fight between two-division former world champion Tomoki Kameda of Japan and American boxer Brandon Figueroa did not go ahead as planned.

The bout in Las Vegas was called off on Saturday after Figueroa withdrew for health reasons. Kameda's opponent was reported to be ill and judged unfit to enter the ring.

Tomoki Kameda is a former world champion in two weight classes. The cancellation of the WBA featherweight title fight means his bid for a belt in Las Vegas must be put on hold, and no information has yet emerged on when the bout might be rescheduled.
