BELGRADE, May 3 (TASS) – Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said the partial withdrawal of U.S. troops from Germany signals that relations between the United States and the European Union (EU) have passed the 'point of no return.'
Speaking to Vecernje Novosti, Vucic stressed: 'Washington's decision to pull some of its military forces out of Germany is an important political statement, reflecting the relationship between the two largest Western powers. Clearly, interests no longer overlap and we have reached the point of no return.'
According to the Serbian leader, U.S. President Donald Trump's move to reduce military forces in Germany sets the stage for a confrontation between Germans and Americans that will only intensify. Vucic also warned that disagreements with Washington could negatively affect Serbia's economy, politics, and business activities.
