Iranian Defense Minister Amir Nasirzadeh and his Malaysian counterpart, Mohamed Khaled Nordin, met in Tehran to discuss ways to enhance bilateral defense cooperation between the two countries.
According to a statement from Iran's Ministry of Defense, the two sides exchanged views on regional and international security issues and agreed to promote cooperation in defense and military fields.
During the meeting, Minister Nasirzadeh emphasized that relations between Iran and Malaysia have seen positive developments recently, particularly following Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian's visit to Malaysia earlier this year. He expressed hope that the talks would further consolidate mutual trust and understanding between the two nations.
For his part, Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin affirmed Malaysia's commitment to its relationship with Iran and its desire to expand substantive defense cooperation as well as other areas of mutual interest.
The two ministers also agreed to maintain regular exchange and consultation mechanisms between their defense ministries and to promote concrete cooperative activities in the near future.
