During a phone call marking the festival of Eid al-Adha, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim conveyed mutual greetings and good wishes to the peoples of both nations. The leaders underscored the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in economic, trade, cultural, and political fields.
According to a statement from the Malaysian Prime Minister’s office, Mr. Anwar Ibrahim expressed his desire to elevate relations with Iran to a new level, particularly following recent discussions on energy and technology collaboration. For his part, President Pezeshkian welcomed Malaysia’s efforts as a bridge between Islamic countries and the wider world.
Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is one of the two most significant festivals in Islam, falling on the 10th day of the Islamic lunar month of Dhu al-Hijjah. During this year’s holiday, the two leaders exchanged official greetings and discussed regional issues of common concern, including the situation in the Middle East and cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Both sides agreed to maintain high-level dialogue and advance concrete joint projects in the coming period, aiming to deliver tangible benefits to the people of both countries.
