Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon held talks in Tehran on October 10, stressing the expansion of bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
During the meeting, the two leaders agreed to advance joint economic projects, particularly in energy, transportation, and trade. President Pezeshkian stated Iran was ready to share technological and technical expertise with Tajikistan. President Rahmon affirmed Tajikistan's commitment to traditional friendly relations and its desire to further cooperation with Iran.
The two sides also discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern, emphasizing the need for enhanced coordination in multilateral forums such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Cultural and educational cooperation agreements were also signed on the occasion.
The talks took place as both nations work to restore and expand bilateral ties after years of disruption. Both presidents expressed optimism about the prospects for future cooperation.
