Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with his Pakistani counterpart, Asif Ali Zardari, in the capital Islamabad on April 22, as part of a three-day official visit to Pakistan.
The two leaders discussed a range of bilateral issues, including economic cooperation, border security, and energy projects. President Zardari emphasized the importance of boosting trade ties between the two countries and expressed a desire to enhance collaboration in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
For his part, President Pezeshkian affirmed that Iran values its relationship with Pakistan and seeks to expand cooperation across various fields. He also highlighted the significant potential for economic partnership between the neighboring nations.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the situation in Afghanistan and security challenges in South Asia. The leaders agreed that stability and peace in the region serve the shared interests of both Iran and Pakistan.
The visit comes amid positive developments in Iran-Pakistan bilateral relations, with several cooperation agreements signed in recent times, particularly in trade and energy.
