In the message released by Iranian media, Pezeshkian expressed sympathy over the immense loss of life and property suffered by Indonesia. The Iranian leader also affirmed Tehran's readiness to dispatch rescue teams, as well as to provide medical equipment and essential supplies to support recovery efforts in the affected areas.
The move comes as Indonesia, a nation situated on the Pacific Ring of Fire, frequently experiences earthquakes and natural disasters. Local authorities are currently working to carry out search-and-rescue operations and provide assistance to those in disaster-stricken regions.
Iran has previously offered humanitarian support to countries affected by natural disasters on multiple occasions, reflecting its active role in international cooperation. This latest assistance is seen as a goodwill gesture aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two Muslim-majority nations.
