Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on October 2 that war is not a solution to problems and voiced confidence that the country can overcome all current challenges.
Speaking at a cabinet meeting in Tehran, Mr. Pezeshkian emphasized: "We do not seek war, but we will firmly defend our rights and national security. War is not a solution to any problem, and we believe that through dialogue and cooperation, all difficulties can be resolved."
According to him, Iran is facing many external pressures, but the country has enough potential and internal capacity to overcome them. He called on the people to unite, trust the government, and work together to build a developed and stable Iran.
The statement came amid rising regional tensions, as Israel continues military operations in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, while Iran has repeatedly warned it will respond if attacked. Analysts believe Mr. Pezeshkian's remarks aim to reassure domestic public opinion and send a conciliatory signal to the international community.
Earlier, in a speech at the United Nations General Assembly in late September, President Pezeshkian also expressed readiness to engage in constructive dialogue with major powers on Iran's nuclear program, while emphasizing Tehran's stance against any actions that destabilize the Middle East.
Iranian officials have repeatedly stated that the country does not want to escalate regional conflicts but will respond strongly to any provocative actions. President Pezeshkian's latest statement once again affirmed Iran's foreign policy of prioritizing diplomatic solutions.
