On June 5, Iran's Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, announced continued comprehensive support for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The statement comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States in the Persian Gulf region.
Speaking at a military meeting, General Bagheri emphasized that the country's armed forces will stand behind the IRGC, which is regarded as the core force protecting national security and interests. He affirmed that this support aims to bolster defensive capabilities against external threats.
The move follows Washington's deployment of additional aircraft carriers and bombers to the region, along with tightened sanctions targeting Iran's oil exports. Tehran has repeatedly warned of a strong response if provoked.
