19-Year-Old Sato Makes La Liga Debut in Valencia's Draw

Japanese striker Ryunosuke Sato, 19, made his La Liga debut on Saturday as Valencia were held to a 0-0 draw by Celta at home in their season opener.

Sato, who came on in the second half, is considered one of the most promising young talents in Japanese football. His early introduction in the first match of the season shows the confidence that Valencia's coaching staff has in the young forward.

The evenly balanced match saw both sides create chances but fail to find the back of the net. Valencia and Celta each took a point from the opening round of the 2026-27 La Liga campaign.
