Israeli forces carried out an attack on the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, killing one person and injuring two others, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa. The victim was identified as Muawiya al-Aydi, a local government employee. A separate attack in the north wounded a person in the Tuffah area of Gaza City.
The ceasefire technically took effect in October, but the Israeli military continues to regularly strike Gaza, with more than half of the territory under Israeli military control, violating the terms of the truce.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, at least two Palestinians have been killed and 11 wounded in attacks over the past 48 hours. The total death toll since the ceasefire has reached 983, with 3,122 wounded.
Hamas accuses Israel of repeatedly violating the agreement through ongoing attacks and the expansion of the so-called 'Gold Road' — the demarcation line defining areas under Israeli control. Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem stated: 'Israel's actions reflect a reluctance to implement the ceasefire and aim to sabotage negotiations while continuing escalation for political and electoral gain.'
In the occupied West Bank, the Israeli military has also carried out a series of violent raids, part of a pattern of near-daily operations since the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023. In the Bethlehem area, Israeli forces used stun grenades and tear gas during raids on the Dheisheh refugee camp and blocked access to the Solomon's Pools reservoir, causing multiple injuries.
In the town of Duma near Hebron, a disabled Palestinian was shot and wounded. Wafa said the Israeli military was responsible, while Israeli media quoted police as saying a Jewish settler opened fire because he felt threatened by the man holding stones. Near Bethlehem, other Jewish settlers attacked Palestinian electricity workers and stole water pipes, according to Wafa.
