Wrong national anthems played at three Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games events

Nagoya Mayor Ichiro Hirosawa confirmed on Wednesday that national anthems were played incorrectly at three events during the ongoing Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games, according to Kyodo News.

Hirosawa said the errors occurred at three events of the Games, and the city government is working with organizers to establish the cause. This year's Games, which opened on October 18, 2026, have brought together a record 45 countries and regions.

There is no detailed information yet on which countries or regions had the wrong anthem played, nor on the specific timing of each incident. Organizers have not announced remedial measures.
