According to the official IRNA news agency, a senior commander of the Iranian military stated on March 20 that the forces will not spare any effort in protecting the country against external threats.
Speaking at a press conference, the official emphasized that the Iranian military remains in a constant state of readiness, fully equipped and with high morale, to cope with any potential situation. He added that defense plans have been continuously updated to adapt to the latest developments in the regional and international situation.
The statement came amid rising tensions between Iran and several Western countries over the nuclear program and regional security issues. Previously, Iran has repeatedly asserted that its defense capabilities are entirely for peaceful and legitimate defensive purposes.
The Iranian military, comprising the regular army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, is considered one of the most powerful military forces in the Middle East. In recent years, the country has accelerated the development of its missile and drone programs, raising concerns among neighboring countries and the West.
