Senior security officials from Iran and Iraq held a bilateral meeting in Tehran to discuss issues of mutual concern, including border security cooperation and regional challenges.
The Iranian side was led by Minister of Security Mahmoud Alavi, while Iraq was represented by National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji. The two sides focused on enhancing coordination in the fight against terrorism and cross-border drug trafficking.
The meeting took place amid a push to strengthen ties between the neighboring countries, particularly following the recent visit of Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi to Tehran. The officials also emphasized the importance of maintaining stability in the Middle East through dialogue and bilateral security cooperation.
