Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain defeated Bayern Munich 6-5 on aggregate in the Champions League semi-finals, advancing to the final against Arsenal. A 1-1 draw in the second leg, highlighted by Ousmane Dembele's early goal and resilient defending, sealed their place.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the reigning Champions League champions, booked their spot in the final against Arsenal after holding Bayern Munich to a 1-1 draw in the second leg of the semi-final at the Allianz Arena, winning 6-5 on aggregate.
In the first leg at home, PSG won a dramatic 5-4. In the return leg, coach Luis Enrique's side extended their advantage early in the third minute thanks to a finish from Ousmane Dembele off a cross from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Bayern Munich pressed for an equaliser but struggled against PSG's solid defence. Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer made two excellent saves from shots by Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue in the second half, keeping hope alive for the hosts.
In the fourth minute of added time, Harry Kane scored to reduce the deficit (his 14th goal in this season's Champions League), but it was not enough for the German side to turn the tie around. Bayern have not reached the final since beating PSG themselves in 2020.
With this victory, PSG will face Arsenal, who lead the Premier League, in the final on 30 May in Budapest. PSG are aiming to become only the second team since 1990 to successfully defend the Champions League title, following Real Madrid.
