On March 5, Iran's Deputy Parliament Speaker condemned a US military attack on a wedding, describing it as an act causing civilian casualties and a serious violation of international law.
In a statement, the official stressed that the US military action not only defies humanitarian rules but also escalates regional tensions. He called on the international community to condemn and prevent similar incidents.
The attack occurred in a border area when a group of civilians were holding a wedding ceremony and were hit by an airstrike. A local spokesperson reported at least 30 deaths and dozens of injuries, including many women and children.
This is one of the most severe attacks on civilians in recent times. Humanitarian organizations have demanded an independent investigation into the incident and warned of an increasingly dire humanitarian crisis in the region.
Speaking at a session, the Iranian Deputy Parliament Speaker also urged Islamic nations to unite in opposing external military interventions while promoting dialogue and peaceful solutions to regional disputes.
