Theo english.kyodonews.net

A new film about Tibet brings to the screen a little-told story of resistance, centering on Tenzin Rigzin Phurpatsang, who grapples with the thin air of Nepal's Mustang region just hours from a homeland he has never visited. The release comes as India and China move to mend ties after a period of strain.

In the Mustang region of Nepal, just hours from a homeland he has never set foot in, Tenzin Rigzin Phurpatsang struggles to breathe the air his Tibetan ancestors adapted to over generations. That thin atmosphere weighs heavy on him.

Phurpatsang's story is one of the slices of life recreated in a cinematic work about Tibet, portraying a resistance rarely mentioned in the mainstream historical narrative. The film arrives as India and China are gradually repairing bilateral relations after a period of tension.
