Roki Sasaki, the Los Angeles Dodgers' rookie, delivered an impressive debut, allowing just one run over 5⅓ innings. But he did not factor into the decision Saturday night as the Philadelphia Phillies rallied late to beat the Dodgers 4-3 and snap the home team's six-game winning streak.
Despite Sasaki's stellar performance, the Phillies found a way back. In the seventh inning, after Sasaki departed, Philadelphia capitalized on the opportunity, scoring the decisive runs. Nick Castellanos launched a two-run home run over the wall, giving the Phillies a 4-3 lead. The visitors held onto the advantage until the final out.
The Dodgers had a chance in the last inning but could not capitalize. Phillies closer Seranthony Dominguez shut the door in the ninth, recording his 12th save of the season.
The loss ended the Dodgers' bid to extend their impressive winning streak, while the Phillies solidified their standing in the National League East.
