Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed on the day of the announcement that expanding friendly ties is a definitive and immutable policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Speaking during a meeting with diplomatic officials, Mr. Pezeshkian stressed that Tehran will continue to pursue a foreign policy aimed at enhancing cooperation with countries around the world, based on mutual respect and common interests.
The Iranian leader said that despite external challenges and pressures, the country remains steadfast in its path to expand bilateral and multilateral relations. He emphasized that one of the top priorities of the new government is promoting ties with neighboring countries as well as traditional partners.
President Pezeshkian's remarks come as Iran works to reposition its role on the international stage, following years of sanctions and tensions with the West. Analysts view this move as reflecting Tehran's desire to break out of isolation and seek new economic and political cooperation opportunities.
Earlier, during his election campaign and after taking office, Mr. Pezeshkian repeatedly emphasized the importance of building diplomatic bridges and strengthening international dialogue to serve national interests and promote regional peace and stability.
