In a recent statement, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that achieving sustainable peace in the Middle East requires close cooperation among nations, without excluding any party, and building trust based on respect for sovereignty and shared interests.
The remarks come amid lingering complex regional tensions. Pezeshkian stressed that "lasting peace cannot be achieved by imposing one country's will on another", but requires constructive participation from all relevant parties, including countries both inside and outside the region.
The Iranian leader also called on regional nations to step up direct dialogue, resolve differences through diplomatic channels, and avoid escalation of conflicts. He argued that existing cooperation mechanisms should be strengthened, while highlighting the role of regional organizations in promoting stability and collective security.
According to him, a sustainable security environment requires all parties to exercise restraint and honor signed agreements, avoiding actions that could cause instability. He also expressed hope that through goodwill and substantive cooperation, the region can overcome current challenges and move toward a future of shared peace and prosperity.
