NTT weighs building data center for Anthropic in Japan at roughly ¥1 trillion

Japanese telecom group NTT is considering building a data center in Japan to serve the needs of Anthropic, the U.S.-based artificial intelligence company, according to Kyodo News.

The project's cost is estimated at roughly ¥1 trillion, the report said. NTT has so far not issued an official comment on the plan.

The report comes as demand for computing infrastructure for artificial intelligence models grows in Japan and across the region, with technology companies seeking to expand their data-processing capacity for AI.
