Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation with his Mauritanian counterpart, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, according to Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the exchange, the two officials discussed the latest regional and international developments, particularly security and stability issues in the Middle East and Africa. Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, and cultural fields.
Foreign Minister Araghchi also referred to Iran's initiatives aimed at promoting peace and dialogue in the region, expressing a desire for closer coordination with Mauritania in international forums. For his part, the Mauritanian counterpart reaffirmed the friendly relations between the two countries and readiness to boost cooperation to address common challenges.
The phone call came amid a volatile regional situation, with countries ramping up diplomatic efforts to resolve existing crises.
