Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman on May 27 reiterated Tehran's stance that political dialogue is the sole viable solution to the prolonged crisis in Yemen. The statement came amid ongoing complex security dynamics in the region.
During a regular press briefing, the official stressed Iran's support for a peaceful, comprehensive solution grounded in respect for Yemen's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Tehran also expressed readiness to coordinate with relevant parties to advance dialogue among Yemeni factions.
According to the spokesman, continued military actions will only further complicate the situation, inflict more civilian casualties, and set back peace prospects. Consequently, all international efforts should focus on encouraging the parties to return to negotiations rather than escalating conflict.
The statement followed several rounds of consultations between Iran and regional countries regarding Yemen. Previously, Tehran repeatedly called on parties to adhere to ceasefire agreements and open humanitarian corridors to support the Yemeni people.
