On July 5 in Hanoi, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held talks with his Vietnamese counterpart and paid a courtesy call on the host country's top leaders.
At the meeting, Minister Araghchi expressed a strong desire to further enhance bilateral ties, particularly in political and trade sectors. He affirmed that Iran values Vietnam's role and position in the Asia-Pacific region.
On the Vietnamese side, leaders welcomed Minister Araghchi's visit and praised progress in bilateral relations in recent times. The two sides agreed to promote high-level delegation exchanges, expand economic and trade cooperation, and strengthen coordination at multilateral forums, especially the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement.
In the trade field, they discussed measures to facilitate import-export goods, expand investment and cooperation in potential sectors such as energy, agriculture, and technology. Minister Araghchi also invited Vietnamese businesses to increase their presence in the Iranian market.
The Iranian foreign minister's visit takes place as the two countries mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1973-2023), opening up many opportunities to elevate bilateral cooperation to new heights across multiple areas.
