Russian forces struck an apartment building in the northeastern city of Kharkiv, killing two people and wounding at least 21 others. According to Kharkiv regional governor Oleh Syniehubov, the victims were a 50-year-old man and a 66-year-old man. Images from the scene showed a large gaping hole spanning four floors of the building, with thick smoke rising.
In the southern Kherson region, Russian shelling killed a 61-year-old woman in the Berislavsky district early Sunday, the regional prosecutor's office said.
In Pavlohrad, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, an "extremely cruel" attack near a shopping center wounded nine people, including four children, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on X.
Zelenskyy added that attacks also took place in the Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Kherson, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk regions.
On the Russian side, TASS news agency reported that Ukrainian drone attacks killed three civilians overnight in Belgorod.
Odesa hit hard
Odesa, in southwestern Ukraine, remained a key target. The Ukrainian Air Force said on Telegram that Russia launched a series of ballistic, anti-ship, and anti-radar missiles along with more than 200 Shahed drones overnight. Missile and drone attacks were recorded at 22 locations, with debris from downed missiles found at six sites.
Russia's TASS agency also reported strikes on fuel, lubricant, and military equipment depots at the port of Odesa.
Zelenskyy said the attacks targeted Odesa's energy sector, and repair work was underway to restore power. At least eight people were wounded as residential buildings and the port were damaged.
"This is how Russia systematically wages war against global food security," the Ukrainian leader said, referring to the port's role in grain exports to the world.
Governor Oleh Kiper earlier said port attacks had killed 28 people in the first three weeks of July alone.
Meanwhile, Reuters reported that Russia attacked two oil refineries in the northeastern Sumy region.
