Moscow, Russia – Russia's Defense Ministry announced today that Ukraine has carried out the largest drone attack in over a year. According to the official statement, Russian air defense forces intercepted and destroyed a total of 144 Ukrainian drones overnight and into the early morning.
The attack was described as unprecedented in scale since early 2023, when UAV strikes began increasing. Ukrainian drones were detected flying over multiple regions of Russia, including both border provinces and areas deep within the interior.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that air defense systems operated effectively, preventing major damage. However, some local sources reported explosions and falling debris in several residential areas, though no official reports of casualties have been released.
Analysts say the move signals that Kyiv is intensifying long-range attacks to pressure Moscow, as the conflict between the two sides remains fierce on multiple fronts.
Ukraine has not yet issued an official comment on the report.
