Russia downs 505 fixed-wing UAVs in single day, Defense Ministry reports

Russia's Defense Ministry reported that on May 2, air defenses took down 505 fixed-wing UAVs, five guided bombs, and two HIMARS launchers. Cumulative figures since the conflict began show extensive destruction of Ukrainian military assets.
Moscow, May 2 (TASS) – Russian air defense systems on Thursday shot down five guided bombs, two U.S.-made HIMARS rocket launchers and 505 fixed-wing Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), according to a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry.
“Air defense forces shot down five guided bombs, two U.S.-made HIMARS rocket launchers and 505 fixed-wing UAVs,” the statement said.
In a cumulative tally since the start of the special military operation, the Russian Defense Ministry said it has destroyed 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 140,399 UAVs, 658 air defense missile systems, 29,127 tanks and armored vehicles of various types, 1,712 multiple rocket launchers, 34,710 field artillery pieces and mortars, and 60,599 special military vehicles.
