Mohamed Salah has officially signed a two-year contract with Turkish club Trabzonspor ahead of the upcoming season.
The Egyptian forward became a free agent after his departure from Liverpool at the end of last season. He flew to Istanbul on Wednesday to finalize the transfer and was greeted by a large crowd of fans upon landing.
The official signing ceremony is expected to take place on Thursday afternoon.
At 34, Salah made a name for himself in the Premier League during his time at Liverpool, where he won two league titles and a Champions League trophy, totaling eight major honors during his tenure at the Merseyside club.
He scored 257 goals in 442 appearances for Liverpool and is regarded as one of the greatest players in the club's history.
Salah's contract with Liverpool still had one year remaining, but in March he announced he would leave the club following a disappointing season in which he scored only 12 goals and had a public falling-out with then-manager Arne Slot.
Trabzonspor is a seven-time Turkish league champion and finished third in the previous season.
